DaVinci Resolve
- Export, then DaVinci Resolve. Save
CamHeard_sync_DR.xml. - In Resolve: File, Import, Timeline…, choose the file. The media links itself.
- The timeline appears in the Media Pool under the file's name.
What the timeline looks like
- One stereo audio track per camera, the way Resolve likes it. The first video track does not stay empty.
- The recorder on the lower tracks, below all the camera sound, one track per channel.
Recorder channels
If the recorder has three or more channels, after the import all of its tracks hear the first channel. For each track select the recorder clips, open Clip Attributes and set Source Channel to 2, 3 and so on. The app reminds you right after the export.
Formats Resolve does not read
DaVinci Resolve 21 does not decode old camcorder files (.mpg, .mpeg, .mod, .tod, .vob) at all, and ONE such file stops it from building the WHOLE timeline: the import quietly ends with nothing. Older versions asked and left those clips offline; the new one asks nothing.
So those clips no longer go into the file for Resolve: the rest of the shoot matters more than those angles. They stay in the file for Premiere, because Premiere reads them. If you need those angles in Resolve too, transcode them and add them by hand.
Matching timecode does not apply here. Resolve looks for media by the file's timecode, so a substituted timecode would make every clip offline. If the checkbox was on, the app skips it and says so in a message.
