Privacy Policy
CamHeard is built so your footage never has to leave your machine. This page explains exactly what that means in practice — and the little we handle when you buy a licence.
The short version: The app runs entirely on your Mac. Your video and audio are never uploaded, streamed, or sent to us — we don't even operate servers that could receive them. The only personal data involved is the order information needed to issue your licence, which our reseller Paddle handles.
01What the app does with your media
All analysis — reading the audio fingerprint of each clip and aligning them — happens locally on your computer. Your media files, project files, and the timelines CamHeard generates stay on your disk. They are not transmitted to us or any third party, and CamHeard does not require an internet connection to sync or export.
The app does not collect analytics about the content of your projects — no file names, no audio, no thumbnails, nothing about what you're editing.
02Information we receive
We only receive personal data in a few narrow situations:
- When you buy a licence — our reseller Paddle passes us the order details needed to create and support your licence: your name, email address, country, and an order reference. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- When you contact support — if you email support@camheard.com, we process your address and message so we can reply.
- Optional diagnostics — if you choose to send a crash report or log, it may include technical details about your system. This is always opt-in.
03Payments & Paddle
Purchases are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all our orders. When you check out, Paddle collects and processes your billing and payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your card number. 04Licence activation
Licences are activated with a key file using the 🔑 button inside the app. Activation works offline — the app does not need to phone home to verify your licence, and we do not track where or how often you run it.
05This website
The camheard.com website sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Any analytics we use are limited to privacy-respecting, aggregate measurements (such as page views) that do not identify you personally.
06Retention & your rights
We keep order and support records for as long as needed to provide your licence, meet legal and accounting obligations, and handle support. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold. To make a request, email support@camheard.com. For payment data, requests may be directed to Paddle as the Merchant of Record.
07Children
CamHeard is a professional tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
08Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
